Bass Cleanage

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Ozzy666_420, Oct 16, 2002.

  1. As you all know after a while dust, skin and all this gunk get on your fretboard after a while if you don't clean it. Well... this just doesn't just go for your fretboard. It also builds up on the body. Then after a while with a couple drops of sweat it goes down under the knobs, thus making you pots dirty. When my pots get dirty my bass makes a loud, annoying, crackling noise. My question is what do I clean my pots with? I've had a guy from a local store clean it for me, but I moved and there is no music store remotely close to me He spritzed them with some kind of cleaner. Do any of you know what kind of cleaner would be good for this? Any replies are appreciated.

Hi, Oz Get a spray can of electronic contact cleaner at an auto parts store or radio shack. Give the pots a shot(inside) and move the knob back and forth. Works great. Good luck.
