With talk of AllodoX in the Fender Club, and russ_4ft in the MM club, I'd like to proudly announce the launching of my own club.

I am a proud memeber of Club POS. That's right, I own a crappy starter bass. No nice bass like a Zon, or a MM or a custom Conklin or decent Fender. I own a bass that is only marginally so. And you know what? I'm proud. Because I own a craptacular bass, I can look at other basses without guilt, or wondering if I can justify the pruchase coughcoughdoubleneckconklincoughcough. I can proudly say, I own a glorified doorstop. Who needs all that? I've got fours strings an additude. you can brag all you want, but the fact of the matter is that when the day ends, I'm still a bass player. Just like you. So go on about your little clubs. I'll be sitting here in mine. SO THERE!

    I want a custom bass.

Well I don't remember it. and if it's long enough back that I don't remember, then it's been long enough for a new one.

I'd like to be the first member inducted into Club POS (after Brendan, of course).

I wouldn't want to restrict myself to a single brand of bass by joining myself to a "club" - I like to see myself as a multiple bass brand man as each bass brand has it's own unique character. However, at the moment I am a Conklin man.

When you are starting out in the bass world there is nothing to be ashamed of what model bass you play. But after years (28) of playing out I'm proud to say I'm a Music Man fan. But I'm also interested in the new basses for beginners. People ask me all the time> I'm just starting out what should I buy? Everybody has their own thing. Some guys are leg men some booty guys etc....etc... Everybody is sharing information with you up and coming players. Call it trying to steer you to the models we prefer or play but fact of the matter it's still information and input can be good or ignored which ever you chose. So be proud of what you play thats cool. I have an ugly old lady but I still think she is still the best. But I'm sure some young stud won't think so. Everybody has their own opinion and I'm glad you shared yours with us good luck to you and all the other newbies.

I was member of this club for many years, a couple of my basses would in some people's opinion still qualify. Electra-Westone fretless, and Peavey Foundation.[IMG]

...SHHHH! Man...that's gotta be a roast if I ever saw one. Let me put it this way: I had been playing bass for like a month, and going off friends ideas of bass. I have since found out that those friends were full of BS...but AT THE TIME I believed them. Man. What I wouldn't give to delete that post...oheee....wait...maybe I can...:)

Don't laugh. You were there too once (I.E. niave). Oh, and you check out the like second or third post? I told' yall I got and SWR WM15' so you'd tell what bass to get, not an amp....whoo, back in the day, I tell you...:D

And I think a lot of you missed the joke about this post...

    No offense intended, man.

I'm sure that some of my early posts were pretty lame too.[IMG]

UH emb...if you caught that FIRST post I responded...well, I though my first post was a different post. That ones just stupid. There's one there that was the one I talking about, and the one you linked to was not it. I changed it too my now standing doof comment after finding out it's not the one I'm thinking. So that particular post, hey, fire away!
