"Bass collection" basses

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Rockin John, May 27, 2001.

  1. Good evening Guys.

I've been offered a second user bass as above. They seem really nice instruments but not familiar with Bass Collection.

    Any thoughts please?

    Hi Rockin John.
    I own one Bass Collection.
    It's a SB465 (5 strings).
I really like the overall design and feel of this bass. The neck is reasonnably thin (24 frets) and fast. Access to highs is easy. to I don't know what woods have been used (except for the fingerboard which is made of ebony ... I love it) but it's not really heavy and fairly balanced.
It has a good sustain except for 2 dead spots on the B string (which is not too floppy by the way) but it can be a setup problem.
As for the sound, I can't speak about it for new BassCollection since mine is second hand and has been modified with a Gotoh Bridge and Bartolini pickups. Mine sounds good to me but I have heard that they are kind of weak.
