I've been the owner of a bass collection SB100 5-string for a number of years now and it has served me very well. I am however looking to sell it to fund the purchase of a ric.

Problem im having is that since the company went bust in the 90's sometime i have no idea of the kind of money it'll fetch.

It's a lovely axe and quite rare I believe. I aquired it in return for a favour. So i really am lost for a value on it.

    Anyone got any ideas?

  2. honestly, mine (a 4 string) didn't fetch much money at all.

I ended up trading it in towards a used G&L, and got, iirc, 150 bucks.

I have an SB310 4 string that I have also had for years, and just recently began giving thought to getting rid of it. You're right, very little info available on the parent company, SGC Nanyo, or on the basses themselves. I can tell you that they have a lot more value overseas than they have here in the US. Pricing overseas has been in the $400 - $850 USD range, the higher ranges for the 5 string fretless.

You can check the web and search for "SGC Nanyo Bass Collection bass guitars" and you'll get some info, but it won't be too helpful. I personally don't want to ship overseas, would rather trade off the bass. Let me know if you can find any other info. They're actually pretty decent basses, just very light .... too light-weight for my size. And that headstock is small!

Edit: forgot to tell you to search this site, couple of references and mentions in some threads that you may find useful.

I bought a 4-string fretless -- I don't know the exact model (P/J, active) -- pretty recently for $400 shipped. Perhaps I paid too much, but I like it pretty well.
