Bass damaged!! what to do?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by inbrednedd, Oct 7, 2004.

  1. I have had an accident while carrying an older five string F-bass.

The bass was in the case when the clips disengaged, case flipping open and throwing f-bass face down onto a stone pathway.

There were two dings on the front of the body, to either side of the strings. Neck and playability were untouched.

This bass has a darker red sunburst-like finish. These two dings are definetely noticeable.

    This bass is not mine.

I am in the process of notifying the owner, who is also a family member.

My real question is what can you do, where can you go to fix the finish on a bass like this (considering the sunburst). Money is not an issue, I just really need to get this bass fixed.

I live in Hamilton, Ont. I've heard that Mike Spicer, formerly of f-bass does finish repairs. Anyone have experience?

    ANyways thanks for the help.

  2. How about checking with George at F-Bass, since you're in Hamilton.
