Bass decision...

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Garrett Mireles, Aug 14, 2003.

  1. I play metal, and I'm wondering which bass you guys think would give me the best tone for the price range.

    Stingray or Spector ReBop?

They don't have either at the music store, so I can't try them out. :meh:

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Then how can you know for sure?
  3. Because they're the only companies I give a damn about in that price range. ;)

Dude, travel to gc or something. You gotta try the bass out your buying, especially if it's an investment like that.
If you get it, chances are there will be something you don't like about it, the neck feel, or something.
    But anyway...
    I'd get the Stingray in a 5.
  5. both bass would work out well for you. I see a lot of metal acts with the bass players playing stingrays and spectors. I have played both those basses and find the stingray a little more comfortable for me to play because it has wider string spacing, but you really got try them for yourself. stingray has a real signature sound spector uses EMG electronics that also sound great. if you can find a guitar center they will have those.
