Does anyone know what bass effect(s) are used on Hillsong United's song Relentless? It's on the new Zion album that just came out. The bass sounds really 'synthy' and I can't figure out what effects are used.

It sounds a lot like a Moog synthesizer (keys) to me. You could get very close with gated fuzz and some chorus.

I've got a Swollen Pickle. Would that count as a gated fuzz? I'm showing my ignorance of effects. :bag:

You bet. The heavier the fuzz into the chorus the better.

Ha, just played this song at a youth retreat with no keyboard player.

I used a bass micro synth to nail a pretty solid synthy tone.

Settings: a sub-octave into some square wave into a filter sweep. I set the rate of the filter sweep pretty high so when I could control where I wanted to cut-off the signal by muting the strings with my hand.

EHX Bass Micro Synth. One of our sound guys at church recommended that for this tune. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the response.
