ok I'm sure this has been asked 1000 times, but I'll be the idiot to ask again.
can I play a bass with my guitar effects processer? Boss GT-6

  2. yes you can, but don't expect high quality sound with lots of bass in it.

i have played through boss guitar floor processor, and it was terrible, i could not even get decent midrange, not to mention low end. Maybe using rack units helps, but in that case you need some preamp etc, etc

Well, separate effect pedals are a lot more expensive, but they are much better. And guitar pedals aren't suited for the extremely low frequencies of bass, so the sound will not be good. So get whatever effects you need in separate stompboxes, get a bypass pedal, and you're set.
