    Such as....

Paul McCartney playing his Rickenbacker on stage.

    Gene Simmons playing "Donna Lee."

Jeff Berlin using a metronome live.

    Anyone else?

    Paul McCartney playing finger style.

Steve Harris playing with a pick.

    Flea playing sitting down.

    The Funk Machine being found.

Geddy Lee switching to flat wounds.

Victor Wooten being a jerk on the level of Jeff Berlin.

Anthony Jackson playing a short scale bass.

    @JimmyM using SWR

Some of those would rip a hole in the space-time continuum and suck all bass players into Gehenna, but I doubt the internet would much notice.

Warwick sponsoring an event/album with Nick Schendzielos, Ryan Martinie and Jeroen Thesseling playing together SMV style. It would be a metal bassgasim.

Victor Wooten @ a clinic- "I'm sorry man, but you're just not good at this; like at all. You may have a dream if being a musician, but now I have a dream of being able to unhear whatever the %$& it was you just did. Have you ever considered a career in accounting or politics? 'Cause you seem to be good at #%$&ing innocent bystanders when they aren't prepared for it. Hell, you're playing makes me want to beat a child to death with a puppy; maybe the sound of that will get your playing out of my ears. I need a drink." Walks off stage.

I would seriously like to see and hear Esperanza Spalding play heavy and primal. Like, Esperanza stands in for Tim for a RATM set, or a bass duet with Geddy or really anything where she is playing hard and heavy rock but somehow putting her own stamp on it.
Can you imaging Miss Spalding's take on Ace of Spades or Won't Get Fooled Again?? That would break my internetsssss....
Oh, yeah... screw Pino! Esperanza Spalding on the next Who tour! hahahaha....cough,... whew...

I like that, but I think I can top it.

Les Claypool joins Metallica for a re-record of …And Justice for All and Lars is going to be cut out of the post production process.

  12. Bruno Mars kicks Jamereo Artis out of the band and replaces him with Cliff Williams.

They overdub the bassline to Uptown Funk with Cliff playing fast root notes with a pick.
