Bass external pre-amps?

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by DSOTM, Mar 24, 2002.

  1. Well, Today i was recording some stuff with my friend and i realized when i heard everything "holy ****, i can barely hear the bass" none the less this was a bass driven song. I was using my jazz bass today and it just wasn't being heard teh drummer somehow was louder than me and he was using Flare sticks, pillows were all over his drum set and he had it muffled pretty bad. What is a good pre-amp? (BTw it was lindsey Buckingham's Holiday road we were recording)

    Hi DSOTM,
I recently have been using a Sansamp Bass Driver DI preamp, this thing is incredible for live or recording and it isn't a fortune. I set my amp flat and use this as my tone control, you can dial in as much growl as you want, very simple unit and it works wonders. http://www.tech21nyc.com/ check it out
