Bass/Food comparisons

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by 5s_tring freak, Oct 8, 2003.

  1. Hey hey,

I guess Craig Garfinkel started this. He likened a Ken Smith to Filet Mignon and a Sadowsky to Truffles and Caviar.

IF this is anything to go by, what would you compare a Fender to?
    A Warwick?
    Wal?
    Yamaha?
    Squier?
    Roscoe?
    Modulus?

    any thoughts?

I would go as far as saying my Warwick is Subway! Mass produced, and found in many places , but still tastes damn good 90% of the time.

My bass is barbequed ribs, blackened with lotsa sauce. mmmmmmmmmmmmm....sauce.

  3. Squier is like baby food. It has it's place, but then you grow out of it.

my fender mark hoppus signature is like a burnt hot dog.

  5. I'd say American Fenders are Pizza Hut. Better general quality than McDonalds (MIM), but some still prefer McD's. American Deluxe? Stuffed crust!

  6. Hrmm...

I guess a high-end bass is like chinese...

you're happy you got it that night, but by the morning(or when the bill comes[for basses]) you're regretting it...badly.

    :)

A good Fender P bass is like roast beef and real taters and lotsa good brown gravy.

I have lost my taste for J basses entirely.

Squier is like a fast food burger.A few real good, most so so.

    I do understand Harleys
    Don't understand Grateful Dead

    word.

i'd say that my fender jazz fretless (MIM) is jello, it's smooth and there's always room for it!

  13. I'd also say my Peavey rig is like a t-bone steak or something. Large, reliable, heavy, tasty

My Stingray is like Jack Daniel's: Sweet, heavy,
potent and lends itself to overindulgence; sometimes with undesired results...

My violin bass is like rocky road ice cream.Smooth, sweet and heavy but with a nice crunch.Hits the spot at the *right* time but not something that you want *all* the time.

Squiers = Burger King or McDonalds. Good for the buck, but still ****.

Fenders = Domino's Pizza. People think its good because of the name but i dont like it that much. (but hey, i stil got one)

My Hohner = Crispy Creme donuts. It is really good if you try it , but not many people have. Better thean dunkin donuts.

Steinberger = Dunkin Donuts :) See above,.

Hmmmm, last time I heard anyone talking about food and basses it was Anthony Jackson, and he was just complaining about someone taking food off his plate :D
