Now i know this may be repetitive but, Im a 14 year old almost expert bassist and I really need a new one. Ive been play a Fender Squier "Bronco Bass" for the last four years and its becoming a drag. Im looking for a nice bass with a good (kick ass) design, good gear and setup, Cool shape and an overall nice feel. I recently tried a Explorer put the pickups got in the way. Any suggestions? :eyebrow:

Wow, impressive. I didn't start playing until I was 14. How long have you been playing? :ninja:

    +1!

You're a fourteen year old expert? I've been playing since you've been three, and I don't consider myself an expert. Jaco's an expert; Victor, Stanley, John Turner.

    Take a look at http://www.rondomusic.com.

IMO, save more money for something that is really going to be different to what you use now. Look in the TB class fields for a used Bongo or Stingray or maybe even a nice Warwick if you like the shape.

Being an expert as you are, I'm sure you would really want something that will reflect and emphasize your ability, hence the suggestion of high end gear.

    cheers

Really? I think a shop Fodera would suit him better.

id go with an ibanez. ive got an sr400qm, and its wonderful. the day i bought my ibanez (started with a squier p bass) i felt my skill level skyrocket. its much more comfortable, better sounding, and much easier to play. but look around at other basses as well. schecter, esp/ltd, and spector all have great options for the price. but try telling us a little more. what kind of music do you like to play? exactly how long have you been playing? anyway, id reccomend...

and next time, please, think before you say youre an 'almost expert bassist'. theres people on these forums who have been playing longer than youve even been alive. bragging like that is only going to make people laugh at you and respect you less

That thing "provides the highest quality song". Just what is needed for an expert bass player.

Pretty much any Dean will do. But if I could make a suggestion Get a Demonator 4, they are perfect for any tone. They are very versatile.

He should buy Jermaine Jackson's 'Spider' J-Bass, it's on craigslist for $25,000. It's a must for any expert's collection.

Bah- I'm done; all out of 'expert' puns.

i disagree....im by no means an expert, but take pino palladio for example. the guy is an expert (he learned the who's catalog virtually overnight for goodness sake)

there is just a certain class of musicianship that some of us will never understand

Yea thats one genre of classic rock , on a four string bass.Seeing as how there is like 10 string basses now and a billion genre's plus tons of theory and yada yada i dont think one person is a bass expert, unless they can play any bass , any genre and know every single musical theory.

Expert to me means-Complete mastery of subject.

    IMO^

In all honesty most of the people have been playing over four years are pretty much experts anyway. Any one who has is probably mastered there technique in there own way. Proof would be using the simplest form of guitar and setup and still being able to make music. After doing so I'm in need for a new guitar. :meh:
