Ok here is the deal I have this stupid ass computer in front of my face for like 9 hours a day, If someone could please link me to a pic of a bass fretboard with all the notes I would have the thing memorized in like 2 days. I have it down now but it takes me a couple seconds to find say all the b's I want it to be second nature and I think this would help greatly. Thanks Funkers
I thought a fretboard background was a great idea Fatfunker, so I decided to make one. Here you go ...
damn!!!!!!! that has to be the most useful thing i've gotten out of talkbass. thanks you guys! 20+ years of playing and I'm gonna finally know what I'm doing!
me too!! 18 years without knowing where to go!!! Hey george... Could you make another one looking from the top? you know... as if I was playing... Then I could learn it in about 1 1/2 hour...
Yeah sure, what's next ? A ****in' twelve string ???The solution is very simple PC, just turn your monitor the other way round.
Yeah I already did it as a .bmp file but it won't attach. I edited the one above by putting every note on there.
Thanks Embellisher. Only problem is, I'm staring at this thing thinking, "how do you read this thing?" So, anyone else had any luck with my latest crazy idea?
Perhaps Dave Grossman will drop in and correct me if I am wrong, but here is how I interpret it. The diagram on the left shows all of easily played harmonic nodes on a 6 string bass, color coded so that you can determine what note you will get at what node. The other 2 diagrams are the keys to understanding the first diagram. For example, the node at the 3.67 fret on the G string, in blue, using the charts on the right, indicates that node produces an F harmonic.
Thanks again Embellisher. I think that I've asked too hard of a question. I'll keep trying to get your chart (as the only way to learn is to try), but I still don't get it .
