Hey guys, looking to start a musicman inspired build. The main body section will be clear acrylic plastic with the section where the bridge is and the controls being made of some kind of wood. Obviously this would be heavy so there are sections that will be routed out to make it lighter. Gonna be using a transtone bridge and a status graphite neck. Can anyone point out any major design flaws or just general opinion? Never deviated from a design as much as this before so I'd be interested to see if it will work.
Seems cool. I think another section of wood, or a wood pickguard would help balance it visually (of course, it's all imaginary right now).
I would rock it There is a TBer here in LC (I think he is named beej) that knows something about plastic guitars. I think the gist of it is that it's not for the faint of heart. I love the project.
