Okay fellow bass players, I am doing a speech for one of my classes about the bass guitar. Part of the speech is gonna cover the history of the bass, but I can't seem to find much information. Anybody know of any good, reliable sources? Thanks, StingrayKid21
How the Fender Bass Changed the World, by Jim Roberts. The Fender Bass: An Illustrated History, by J.W. Black and Albert Molinaro. Last months issue of Bass Player magazine... They're all Fender related, but that's really the history of the instrument.
A good one: The Bass Book - A complete illustrated history of bass guitars - Tony Bacon & Barry Moorhouse
a Spector pamphlet,I would start it this way"the bass was first played in 1976 when the great Sir Stewart Spector was given the first bass by then pope, Father Ned Steinberger as it was origionaly wraped in the shroud of turin and last played by the Apostle Paul."that sounds like an A to me.
