bass/guitar setup - a new era?

  2. Whew! That is one wild device!

    I think it will become the standard against which all others are measured. If the marketing can hit the US successfully and the equipment isn't too expensive, perhaps even smaller shops will be able to offer the service. If not perhaps specialized vendors will open just for setup business. The product from this technology is what everyone of us is looking for.

    Here's to hoping for it to come stateside soon!

    I just read that they've gotten the U.S. patent for it, so they'll be able to market in the U.S.

    Prices in Germany:

    29DM/15$: Just computer measuring

    59DM/30$: measuring and trussrod setup

    300DM/ca.150$: full service (the aforementioned steps and complete computer-aided fretjob

    local vendors receive training by the company

    they just did a fretjob on German guitarist Uwe Kropinski's 39(!)-fret acoustic(?) guitar

    several bass/guitar makers are planning to integrate this into their manufacturing process, e.g. bass builder Jens Ritter,
