Bass guitar tech? I have no clue.

    Alright my fellow bassists,

    I have a serious question. I have been playing bass since I was in the 6th grade. 10 years later, and all I have ever used is my bass and an amp. I go into guitar center and hear guys talking about different gear. I will confess that I am clueless in this area. Well I want to change that. Tell me where you learned your information. Thanks guys!

    Stick around here, I learned the hard way, just look at my previously owned gear. Keep an open mind IMHO (in my humble opinion)

    Agreed, experience can be a mean teacher, but there is no substitute for it.

    Look for thorough reviews/discussions and avoid the "what's the best xxxx for xxxx" threads.

    If you want to be terrorized by technology, hang out in the Effects forum ... those guys are a lot of fun and information abounds.

    if you want to educate yourself this site is an amazing resource, stick a term in that you have herd that you dont get, (for instance maybe hybrid amp) and i can guarentee somthing will come up that can help you.
