Bass & Guitar with a full band

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by SheepHerder7898, May 16, 2003.

  1. My band director has approached a friend and I about playing a song with the symphonic band (which I am in, Baritone). Frankly I don't know any pieces that feature guitar and bass that have a full band in use. Got any ideas?

  2. silverchair diorama album?

i dont know the difference between symphonic and orchestras etc but its just an idea.

  4. Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

  5. Symphonic is just the name for the top brass/wind band in the school. No strings, so that rules out a lot.

Edit: Man I am not doing very well with spelling tonight.

How about doing a jazz song? This way the brass and winds can do thier thing and bass and guitar can do theirs.

Maybe a swing tune like sing sing sing, would be a good choice. Its got brass and woodwinds as well as bass, drums, and you can add a guitar line if it doesnt already have one. And that song really cooks!

  7. Blood, Sweat and Tears. You can't go wrong with the greatest band in the world.
