Was wondering if there was anything wrong withdoing this. I just tried running my headphones through my bass (Both Ibanezes have preamps) and I can get sound out of the left ear, right at the lower volumes.

Is there any concern at all with this? No blown headphones or anything right? I'm using Sony XD200s at the moment.

Many people (including me) use a low power headphone amp to practice without disturbing anybody. Common sense with the volume will keep your headphones (and more importantly, your hearing) safe.

Thats the thing - I can only get a low output without an external headphone amp. I don't keep it too loud, and the XD200s are somewhat isolating.

The only thing is that I'm not sure if going direct wills crew up anything, besides the really loud pop when plugging in.
