Hey, so I have a Carvin Rt410 that is rated at 800 watts at 8 ohms. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding something that will power this while still allowing comfortable headroom. Any suggestions on good Bass Heads?

It may be rated at 800w but no way it'll take 800w without sounding like it's going to explode. That's the wattage that causes the voice coils to blow. The vast majority of 410's out there are lucky to do 500w before they start farting out, and most take around half the voice coil blowing wattage.

You don't have to use a high wattage amp to get a good head of steam out of a 410, either. 200w into a 410 is enough to get you fired from most respectable joints. But headroom is a good thing to have if you plan on being loud, so I'd look at something that does at least 300w RMS. And you can get a super high power amp as well, but just know that if your cab sounds like it's going to explode, it will, so take it easy on the trigger finger if you go that route.

When you say "good bass heads", do you just mean "high-powered bass heads"? Or are you asking about other features and/or functions as well? In which case, what exactly are they? And what does "good" mean to you? :eyebrow:

I have a Carvin B2000 head I use with a Carvin BRX10.4, 1,200 watt 4x10 Cab at 4Ohms. The amp runs 1,300 watts at 4 Ohms. If you are running a 4x10 800 watt, 4 Ohm cab a Carvin BX500 head will work well.
