"The Real Me" by The Who "Higher Ground" by the RHCP "Red Barchetta" or "Freewill" by Rush "Roundabout" by Yes "Bonin' in the Boneyard" by Fishbone I think you'll dig all of those . . .
Soul to Squeeze or Aeroplane, really can't go wrong with any RHCP. A lot of Rage Against the Machine, some older Incubus stuff too like Pardon Me or songs off of SCIENCE. Most of Tool and Rush is bass heavy. Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden Any Primus. Oh, and Super Freak - Rick James
Bass heavy? 1) Anything by Chic 1977-1981: Bernard Edwards on Bass 2) Numerous Motown acts: James Jamerson on bass For e.g. 'You keep me hanging on' - The Supremes 'How long has that evening train been gone' - The Supremes 'Same old Song' - Four tops 'Darling Dear' - Jackson 5 'It's a shame' -the Spinners
If you like RHCP I would recommend - -Ethiopia - RHCP (the intro is nothing but octaves) -Factory of Faith - RHCP Some of my first songs are- -N.I.B. - Black Sabbath (very catchy bassline) -Far Cry - Rush -Stick it Out - Rush (Drop D tuning) -Sweet Leaf - Black Sabbath (Very simplistic)
sigh just listen to Rain by them, or Something, don't be silly. I bet more than half the songs you like were written by someone influenced by them. Red Barchetta by Rush, like all Rush, really busy and melodic What's Going On by Marvin Gaye and James Jamerson-a real MotherFunker
Same, I can get the intro down, and I have the main line but it's pretty sloppy. I'm not going to even attempt the fills.
Limelight, Tom Sawyer Spirit of the Radio and Red Barchetta are the Rush songs I can play really well. YYZ is the only other I have tried.
No More Tears is pretty cool on bass I watched Beyond the Lighted Stage the other day, really enjoyed it
RHCP - She's Only 18 RHCP - Tell Me Baby Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused Paul Mccartney - Another Day Wings - Call Me Back Again Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You Level 42 - Love Games Level 42 - Lessons In Love
I play most ozzy material on guitar when I do, gotta love randy rhoads (except no more tears is zakk). I've seen behind the lighted stage, I like it, it got me into rock documentaries.
