Bass ID, what did I buy? Ibanez ?

That headstock is throwing me off but I’m gonna go Cort B4 Artisan. The older one.

 

Doesn't seem like an Ibanez to me, as they put their tuners on at an angle.

The headstock shape is also wrong and there would be Ibanez written on it.

That 'Artisan' inlay and brass nut doesn't seem right either, so I'd say some kind of Cort.

 

I could be wrong...

 

Cort I think, they made an Artisan model with a similar badge on the end of the fretboard:

 

Cort Artisan for sure, decent bass.

The headstock has been cut and modified though right?

 

The shape is right for an older one. But it jas been sanded down and stained. Should be gloss black with a fancy "C" logo.

 

It's sort of interesting how much it looks like an Ibanez. Are Ibbys made at the Cort factory?

 

Quite a few are as i understand it.

 

I'd assume MIK Ibanez were manufactured in a Cor-Tek plant.

 

My guess is also Cort, the roundover on the body is the giveaway for me. Ibanez typically has a tighter roundover.

For sure. I'd say that is a pretty nice score for 40 bucks.

What was the rest of the package?

 

Looks very cool for $40!!! The font on the serial number looks to be the same as the font usually used by Cor-Tek.
