Been watching the FX show " Snowfall " which just has a ton of hip 80s R&B tunes in it one of which was the Teddy Pendergrast tune " Love T.K.O. ".

I liked the groove enough that I bought the tune and was messing around with the bassline, I knew I wasn't getting it so found a transcription of it and I was so far off it's not even funny.

Sort of made me feel like a big dummy when I saw what it was.

Granted I was listening and playing along to it on a big stereo system and wasn't listening carefully, but still....:rollno:

I felt this way when I would look up tabs when I first started playing. I tried to teach myself YYZ by ear, and some of the fingerings and positions that I came up with were very far off the consensus of the other tabs I read afterward.

Just because someone puts tab on the net doesn't necessarily mean they are more right than you.

no, this was a pretty accurate transcription. my only excuse is that I just wasn't listening carefully enough at first.
