im looking to find a bass magazine, dose anyone kno any good ones?
Bass Player is what I read
There is also Bass Guitar.
BG is more for nu-metal kids.
BP is for people who want to learn about music.
Both are good reads, but both are different.
I get both. It's a good balance.
And I don't think "nu-metal" is a very good word choice, but it is definitely for the younger, "I WANNA F*CKING SHRED" crowd i'd say.
Agreed. That's a better description.
I'm also a long-time Bass Player fan.
Bass Guitar must be trying to branch out because they just hired Ed Friedland away from Bass Player.
I highly recommend Bass Guitar Magazine Bass Guitar Magazine from the UK. Great articles, excellent lessons and strong reviews.
Another great magazine is Bassics Magazine. Comes with a great CD and is more of serious players magazine.
I also like Bass Player.
I like both Bass Guitar and Bass Player. The former definitely has some good music stuff going for it though. I read it because it has a lot of coverage for the heavier stuff I like. Bass Player, while having more variety, doesn't have much in the metal department, but has better reveiws and tech tips.....some times, it just seems like too much information.
I like them all if it has the word bass in it im buying it. Well unless the word Bass has to do with a fish.
Big Bass Player magazine fan here. Bass Guitar is TAB only.
BP fan here.
That said, there is a UK publication called "Bass Guitar" that is totally different from the US one. The UK one is an excellent magazine. BP is probably the best bass magazine, but IMO, JazzImprov definitely wins out in my opinion as best music magazine.
