Recently picked up a Bass Mods Jazz guitar and was wondering what thoughts anyone had on these. I think they’re a bit overpriced and heavy.

They have some interesting basses. But basically they are parts basses, with the bodies and necks made in Asia and put together and setup in the US. I also read they are on heavy side, but they do offer basses with chambered bodies.

I was seriously looking at them, ended up going with a handmade Bacchus bass from Japan. Not expensive and definitely on par with the Sadowsky basses I’ve owned.

Bacchus basses are some of the best cost performance basses out there. I got one of their lower end ones (I live in Japan) and even those are pretty darn good for the price.

Hi, which one is better a BASS MODS Maurice Fitzgerald or Ethan farmer model?

I'm quite certain each model has designated colors and pickups/preamps selections. The EF model is usually black or now creme with bartolini pickups/preamp and buffer. The MF model is usually white or creme with Bassmods own jazz pickups and their preamp.

I personally own a Bassmods and have the REJ-5 Bassmods pickups and their preamp and its killer, I'd recommend.
