bass northwest!

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by allan grossman, Feb 6, 2002.

  1. I finally got to Bass Northwest before I came home to Battle Creek - amazing selection, great staff.

I met Aaron and Gabe and told them I was in Seattle for a business trip - Aaron told me to browse to my heart's content and if I saw something I wanted to plug in, just let them know.

The selection was amazing - a few Alembics, a couple of fretless Foderas, the list went on and on.

The only bass I plugged in was a honey-colored flame Sadowsky jazz 4 - and yes, I would have abandoned my 55-94 for it in a heartbeat. I knew they were nice but I was just amazed at the quality and tone of the thing.

Gabe and I discussed the difficulty we have getting Bartolini hardware sometimes - I cancelled an order on him after four months (I sold the bass I was gonna out the Barts in). No questions asked when I cancelled the order and they promptly processed a credit card refund. Gabe told me he's been waiting on a set of pickups for a custom application for more than a year.

Anyway, after they were so kind I had to buy something, so Gabe put together a six-string set of stainless Lo-Riders to try on my Cirrus (with DR they only stock four-string sets and loose strings).

Anyway, a good time was had by all. If you're in the Seattle area and have a chance to stop by, drop in. I've never seen so many high-end basses in one place and their used amp selection is killer as well.

Very cool! You should've said hi for me! :D

Gabe is an awesome guy, very helpful. I love it down there, I just don't get to go down often enough. Once I get my license...oh man! Seriously though, that's probably the best store out there, even if I have had a couple problems in the past. Great prices, (usually) great people, and the equipment in the store is always set up well. Good stuff.

Allan, if you had let someone know you were coming...could've met down there and had a mini-TB party! :D
  3. Hey, Angus -

Sorry I missed you - in the last month I've been to Norfolk, SoCal and just got back from Seattle about an hour and a half ago. Next month I may be in Charlotte for a couple of days and that should be it until I go to Comdex next fall - unless I can think of someplace interesting to go and a good reason to go there :D

My new job is ADP research and development for an agency under Department of Defense so I get to play with all kindsa geek toys and take trips to investigate new technology - and do site surveys to see where I can streamline processes and get this little DoD agency into the 21st century.

Matter of fact, there's one of those spiffy new Samsung cellular PDAs on my desk now - it arrived while I was in Seattle. New toys to play with :D

Man, you guys had great weather while I was there - I wish I could afford to live there. Besides bassnw we did the public market a couple of times, did a lunch cruise, went out to Snoqualmie Falls and my wife did the aquarium and the doll museum in Bellevue. A great time was had by all.

Well...I'm in a nice position...been to Bass NW, and to Bass Central. Or, as I like to think of is, Bi-Costal Bass Porn :D

Between the two, I liked Bass NW's selection better  sorry Gard!
