Does anyone know who played bass for the Disney movie Frozen? I was listening and he has some awesome lines, especially in Love is an Open Door and Let it Go.
  2. I think it was Abe Laboriel Sr.

I just watched it again yesterday with the kids. Never noticed the bass lines. To busy listening to my daughter sing - especially Let It Go.

Last night I was listening to the instrumental version... the lines and licks are so distinctively Laboriel... it's gotta be him!

the liner notes in the CD soundtrack list Abraham Laboriel as the electric bass player. Love his funky syncopations on the 2nd verse of "Love is an Open Door".
  6. Here is the live performance of the Frozen Soundtrack. Abe performed them live too.

I especially love the bass hiccup sound on the elevated chorus after bridge on Idina Menzel's Let It Go song.

Correct. I've actually looked in the liner notes in the CD booklet.

Love is an open door has a nice groove to it :bassist:

Abe has said that he played his ($400) Yamaha TRBX on at least some of the "Frozen" tracks. Food for thought when feeling the need for expensive gear... :)
