Bass players! Show us your guitars!

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by stonetone7, May 17, 2018.

  1. You know you have one. Or more. What better way to deepen your knowledge? Either way, don’t front. There’s no shame, no shame, even if you brought a 50w Plexi to a bar once. Or twice. Let’s see your number one, or the group, or your improbable fave.

I am willing to suffer the slings and arrows. But really. It’s OK.

    It’s OK.

Can't, gave away my four guitars since I haven't touched them in the 6 years I started playing ukulele and bass uke. But here's my collection of 21" to 24" scale basses, and some where guitars before conversion.

I still dabble in in guitar, but I only own two at this point. One is a Peavey Predator and the other is this Fender American Standard Offset Telecaster.

    Custom Shop Les Paul small.

1985 Custom Shop Les Paul. The nicest playing Les Paul I've ever owned. It has a Roland pickup installed from the factory and from my research it looks like there were only about a dozen ever made.

    Pretty damn extensive :)

I could never make nice with the Ovations. I had, briefly, a Kama but sold it to a band-mate after less than a year. I loved the nutmeg finish! I saw Glen Campbell live and he had one. I really liked the sound so got one. Alas, not for me. Wish I had it now though :) It was a 198x ... 4 I think but that was a long time ago.

Mine are a Yamaha RGX420 DS6 baritone that plays like buttah. A 1982 Fender Concord and a 1980's Epiphone law suit era Les Paul that's been significantly hot rodded internally. It's a growly beast.

Yeah, I went a little guitar crazy over the past year or so.

That Ovation with the natural top I bought new in the early 70's. It has an all aluminum neck, frets included. They are so worn, that the guitar is unplayable at this point. One of these days, I'll have to replace the neck. Anyway, for some reason, I find the Ovations extremely comfortable to play. Standard acoustic guitars tend to dig into my body. The curved backs on the Ovations don't.
