    Wow - stainless steel fretboard.

Instead of the strings scratching the freboard, it's going to be the other way around.

I agree, the mwah on that bass would be like MMMMMMWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

I'd keep a little cup of motor oil on my amp to lube my fingers. I'd be scared to death to play outside in threatening weather. I bet that thing would attract lightning from 15 miles!

    I don't think it'd sound good...
The metal'd make it sustain too much, and it'd probably be way too bright.

I wonder if you have to coat that in epoxy. :)

The bass goes for roughly 2500$

The finger board is available on all Le Fay basses for additional 150$.

I haven't played it yet, but Reiner is a tone freak, and he started a new model to feature this fingerboard, so it should sound good.

But you're probably right, not for vintage tone lovers.

This was the funniest thread yet! Just the new way to use a bass puts me in orbit!

And the rest of you are just - incredible!

You can really turn your conservatism into fun comments - love you, guys!

Another thing that occurred to me - if you use an Ebow with this bass, the whole neck would vibrate - imagine the sound...

Metal fingerboard = fretless slap machine?

Now we're in trouble! Just imagine listening to the kids try this out in the music store--bad slap + bad intonation. I'll be buying online from now on :D
