I've never heard of the brand. :|

  5. If you can, go to a local music shop where you can try a bass for yourself.

The mail order bass may need some set-up work and could be more difficult to play than it should be. The guys at a local store can offer some help and advice as well.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy many happy hours of playing for many years to come !!

  6. It's indeed tough to purchase something like this low-end product and hope that it's Ok or just plain awful.

Do you have a chance to look around for used gear where you are located, you might find a good used Squier or Ibanez for the same price range with good pickups and decent fretboard? Same with amps, you could get good prices for used gear. --Kent
