I have a Xeros Anchor endpin rest that is always in my gigbag in case I need it. One end goes underneath my stool the other catches the endpin. Not sure how well it would work while standing, I'd presume you'd have to stand on it.

At any rate, you can buy it on Amazon for $13.

I saw this on a bass at Luciano Golia's shop and saw it as a low cost upgrade.
Feels great .
$16 and as you can see much better than my original.
They come in 10 and 8 mm on reverb.

I use that exact same tip! I built a bunch of brass endpins (which sound great!) and used Saddle Rider tips and those pear-shaped tips. Great rubber tips that wear better because of the curved surface.

And if the bass endpin slips (wet ground) it takes your leg with you, you fall backwards, the bass mostly safe onto you. Unfortunately the back of your head will crash hard on the floor which will kill you.

I think using a carpet for feet and endpin would be safer.

Now I did see a bass player with Jim Pepper and he sat on a stool (and swung like nobodies business 😊) and he did have a belt around the leg of the stool and the end pin. He also used an Ampeg B-18 on that gig. First time I has seen one in the wild gigging 👍

I used a Xeros strip myself with a EUB on a higher stool. That's more or less standard with cellists and works … unless you move too much on the stool and fall down sideways, but that's easily avoidable (at least for most of us).

It would also be possible to mount a cup or endpin holder fixed at the carpet. Just needs to be long and wide enough so that the legs of the stool will fit too. A simple stool with four legs or a high 3-leg drum throne or something similar should work best staying in place.

Because it can be hard to put the endpin in the holder something to hookup a line to the stool directly at the endpin (maybe with an attachment like the Wolf Super Endpin ball end) might be useful. Just be careful when laying down the bass and taking it up again.
