definitely stop by Make 'n Music downtown. they've got a killer selection of Laklands, Bergantino, Aguilar, MTD, etc. etc. etc. great shop! the neighborhood, tho is really sketchy.

btw, there are no Sadowsky dealers, other than BassNW and Corner Music in Nashville.

Not much in the way of music stores downtown any more. Where exactly are you going to be, and will it be weekdays or the weekend?

    There's always Lakland...

Thanks everyone for your response,

To Ken Smith, I just arrived in Chicago today and just logged onto talkbass, I will call your shop on Tuesday, BTW, I DO LOVE MY BSR6MW :D your bass plays like butter!

To HeavyDuty, I am near Michigan ave by the Navy peer, I will be here until Friday.

To Jokerjkny, I will try to look them up and swing by there.

    Peace:bassist:

Be careful going to Maken' Music - the neighborhood really sucks.

There's a decent store in Evanston right off the train - Guitar Works 847-475-0855. Heavy on the guitars, but a nice place. There's also a good Guitar Center on the north side.

Another vote for Make N Music. I believe the address is 250 N. Artesian. Watch your back, better yet, take a cab and then have them call you one when you leave...

Yep - ditto's again. Home of some of the nicest wood you're likely to find in Chitown. Not cheap though ... I shop there whenever I come to town.

Sounds like Maken Music is "proceed at your own risk" type of place to go to. I was planning on taking my wife with me before the WARNINGS:eek: Looks like that wont be such a good Idea, maybe I should take a big stick instead:meh:
is the area really that bad?? I can handle myself if need be, but I cant take getting shot at,or dont wont to have to defend my self just for looking at a bass!

    CHOICES, CHOICES,CHOICES, :spit:

I do thank you all for the warnings!

It's not THAT bad to get there, and they have a parking area with entrance that is secured with a fence and remote gate.

I wouldn't walk around the neighborhood alone late at night, but driving there during the day is not bad at all.

Of course, carrying a stick is always a good idea.
