Just got this in the mail from National Guitar Workshop.
Page 16 announces the 2001 Bass Summit. Sounds like they have some pretty good courses lined up including an "Intensive Jazz Bass" course given by Ed Friedland, a "Time/Groove Workshop" also given by Friedland and a Bass Set-Up couse given by a Bass Player editor among several other courses. Other teachers include Chuck Archard and David Levtov.

Guests lined up include Billy Sheehan, Gary Willis, Rocco Prestia and possibly Hutch Hucthinson which provides a nice variety of styles.

The dates are June 26 to July 1. The venue is Los Angeles.

I sure wish I could go. If any of you do, please let us know how it went and if you think it is money well spent.

    Further information is at:

(I'd better post this disclaimer. I posted this thread for anyone's information. I am in no way affiliated with Guitar Workshop or The Bass Summit and have nothing to gain by having posted the information here.)

  2. I also got this. except for Ct.. I wish I could go! =P

I would kill to see Prestia in a workshop environment. I play his instructional video very regularly just to remind of how little I know about funk bass.
