Is anyone out there familiar with bass synthesizer pickups and systems? The only two I can find are the Roland V Bass system and the Axon system. Does anyone own either of these, and how do you like them? Are there any other synth bass systems available? Thanks much!

There's also the Roland GR-20, recently upgraded to support bass.

I've owned/tried all three. The VBass is more of a bass modelling unit, with some synthy effects. From what I understand, it doesn't do MIDI conversion internally.
The GR-20 had the best overall built in sounds. The Axon was the best midi convertor I tried - was less likely to double trigger etc, and was more configurable. The built in sounds on the Axon 100SB were fine, if not great.

the Roland V Bass is not a midi bass system, it just uses the same special pickup with the various midi systems!

there is the Yamaha G50. tracks good and has many options.
