Silly little problem, wondering if anyone else has this experience and or advice. My basses with bart pickups and 4.6 preamp seem to have a very hot signal which causes some overdrive problems. Rolling back the volume helps but the problem is kinda maddening especially with any chorus pedals, I need to go at about 75% volume on the bass or it overdrives the input, not a pretty sound. Any ideas?

Might try getting a compressor, or lowering your pickups a tad.

  3. Here's the schematic for the 4.6 preamp. There's a gain knob job "System Gain" - roll that back a little until you're satisfied.
