does any one make a copy...or is there a reissue avalible....anything..

if strung with 84-24 string is this well enough to be the bass in punk trio?

its either this route or a warmoth baritone guitar...but i don't know if it can handle the strings

    thanks

Fender "re-issued" the Bass VI a few years ago. I doubt it's still in production.

Danelectro also made a 6 string Bass-tuned like a guitar but an octave lower. It's really a specialty instrument and I wouldn't recomend it as your main instrument.

In any event, I believe both versions are out of production. If you really want to find one, try e-bay or a used instrument website.

    • Your titles suck. ;)

They make Fender VI parts. Body, neck, all the goodies.

Out of curiosity, why not just a 6-string bass?

One can play chords on bass. I (and loads of other bassists) do it all the time. My guess is that chords will sound a lot better on a 34"+ scale bass than a baritone scale. Shorter scale = less definition = mud. Just something to think about. I do think that those Fender VI's are very cool looking.
