Hey! I was just wondering, how powerful should an amp be if you are to play in small to medium sized clubs? I was thinkin prob between 100-200 watts but i`m not sure what i should go for.

Ps I play loud post-hardcore music

  2. It all depends on what type of speakers you plan on using with this amp. For years I played with an 80-100 watt Sunn 200S tube amp. It worked very well with a 2x15 EVL cab. This cab was so efficient that you could probably drive it with a transistor radio. However, it didn't have much response below 80 hz either. There are cabs today that don't need a lot of power Bag End comes to mind. But, SS power isn't all that expensive these days so for the type of music you are describing I'd look for a used Hartke 3500. It's 350 watts into 4 ohms which should be more than enough for what you are doing.
