Just wondering if i were the only one that hates when the word Bassguitar is used. I think that it just should be Bass, just hate when someone is mixing it with the girly instrument guitar is
I actually like the word, it is totally logical, and I don't know, I have a thing for little sub-catogories and stuff
i too, dont like the word bass-guitar, but hey, it beats the confused look when people think you go fishing!
Well, it's easier to say "I play bass guitar" than saying "I play bass", then being asked "Oh, upright bass?" then you have to say "No, bass guitar." Maybe I should just say "I play horizontal bass" but that would require even more explanation. -Mike
Yea right, Ive only met like 3 kids in my life who actually knew what an upright bass was and a good half of kids in my school (and every other school I went to)didnt even know what a bass guitar was. Kids are getting dumber and dumber by the generation...
Forgive me, but this is so useless. The thing is a bassguitar, get over it. IF you choose not to use the word, than go for it. And the girly instrument guitar...give me a break. Wendy
Oh for Chrissakes don't start this again. Look, the bass guitar is a kind of guitar. It is a member of the guitar family. Deal with it!!
What annoys the hell out of me is when bass guitar is spelt BASE believe it or not I've seen articles in newspapers and wanted ads talking about "base" guitars (what the hell is a base guitar anyway?? makes me think of a guitar that has no morals, ethics etc....I blame the parents
Yeah I find you get that a lot with the Freeads paper for example. There's always some pretty grevious spelling errors. One that never fails to amaze me is "Beetles", and the sheer number of times it is misspelled that way. I assume it's because people phone their ads in, and the morons they employ as phone operators, apparently don't realise it's spelled with an A. But the number of times I've seen ads for "Beetles LPs" is suprising. Base guitar, as you say, is another common one.
i allways use the names double bass, and electric bass. people know what i'm talking about, but i dont need to call the electric bass a guitar.
