    Hey Grant -
We're doing our best to get booked in OC! Hopefully we'll have an opportunity in Laguna or somewhere else close to you soon. We just got booked for a gig on Saturday, November 11 @ The Shoppes at Chino Hills, so were inching our way closer. I really hope we have good weather and warm temps on that day.

Hey Freddy...do you knows people? Do yous has a guy who can take care of our..."problem?" He's a fellow Brit, so maybe you can have it handled incognito like? Let's just say there may be a case or two of Guinness in it for you if this guy ends up swimming with the fishes...!

Hey Cliff...yeah, I hope they'll give us a chance at some point - I think we'd be right up their alley.

Glad to hear Kelly has finally found a sub/replacement for you! I don't envy that dude, as he has big shoes to fill.

Many of my current bandmates/buddies and I saw Willie along with Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Alabama in 1980 at Anaheim Stadium. Willie had that place rockin'! It's definitely freaky an unnerving when the portion of a large concrete structure you're on is bouncing. He's a true American original and one of a kind.

Probably the most likely place around here for you to play. Opened within the last year and there has been no shortage of name acts that have come to play here. If you get a gig here, please let me know so I can come and see/meet you.

That's about a 4 hour haul from Spencerport, but if it means a chance to meet @BassCliff , it's worth it. Wonder if he could handle meeting two NY TB'ers at the same time?? :D

Heck, maybe we could get @dbase to make the trip from Jersey to hang with us......

    Hi!

Thanks for the suggestions! I sent them both to True Willie and suggested he send out an EPK or at least an email to pitch the show. I like getting out of town once in a while. It would be great to meet you guys.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

    Hi Chris,

I'll pass this along and see if I can get T-Willie to submit an application. This would be cool. Thanks!

In the meantime, here's a cell phone video that the drummer's wife took. This wasn't the best song of the night but it'll give you an idea.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

Fortunately the Willie shows I've seen have all been in normal amphitheater venues so they weren't scary experiences. However, one time I WAS sitting in the front row of the top deck at Anaheim Stadium for a Grateful Dead show. It's no exaggeration how unnerving it is to feel the thing bounce up and down. :woot: But there have been lots of concerts there over the years and the place is still standing.

Maybe Cliff will let me be his "road secretary" so I can tag along and hang with you guys :)

I've been thinking the same thing. Most all the bands on that show are top notch. True Willie would fit right in

That was great  Outstanding vocals from you too Cliff
Pancho and Lefty is one of my favorite songs, period. It was part of our set list about ten years ago. Of course it wasn't nearly as good as your version. ;)

When True Willie and I sing "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" all the old ladies in the crowd just go nuts, and some of the younger ones too.

What do you mean by go nuts ??
Like some have to be taken down like wild animals maybe straight jackets or just a lot of pantie tossing??
    Just looking for some clarification.

    Hey Grant -

Thank God it's built to earthquake standards!

Many are top notch, and truly channel the artist or band through their performances (The Fab Four, etc.) However, I have also been surprised to see/hear just how many poseurs there are as well, many of which represent themselves as the "Top" tribute act of their kind. I understand every band can have a bad night, but some have been truly substandard. It really makes you appreciate the guys & gals whom have truly done their homework and have a natural gift for impersonation and performing at that level.

Ha. Take my advice and avoid frustration. Don't try to match the master, be content with emulation. ;)
