I'm tubby, have a goatee, try my best to blend in the background, am painfully shy when introduced at gigs and am an absolute gear whore.

i'm in none of the pictures.

    also, i'm ugly.

also, whenever there's a decision to be made, my response is usually: 'whatever's clever, i just want to play.'

    Love of stupid hats? Check.
    Tubby? Check.
    Goatee? Yup.
Discuss music theory with people who don't understand? Yup.
Know enough guitar to be able to ask a guitarist to play a chord somewhere else on the neck, thereby pissing him off? You bet.

But I also find I'm the most helpful guy in the room...
I carry a capo because the singer forgot his once, and next time that happens...Bam! Here's a capo!

I always grab something of the guitar players to carry, usually his pedal case.

I like to help everyone with their mike stands, etc.

I love being a bass player...

I too have a goatee, am the mediator/counselor/voice of reason and oddly enough love gear. :)

  6. OK I'm guilty of a few bass stereotypes.

I sometimes wear a hat whilst playing.
I love gear and learning about different basses.
I often find myself explaining music theory to people.
I'm shy and like to hide at the back during anything social.
I'm a little podgy (even as a girl, I'll actually admit it!)
I pull stupid faces when playing.

I'm the biggest in the band(barely). I'm somewhat shy. I can't sit still without tapping a beat with my feet or fingers. Bring more picks, slides, and effect pedals to practice than the guitar player(and don't use any of them). I want to play whenever possible, and I come to this site way too much to be healthy!

    Gear snob.
Wear a suede driver's cap on occasion.
    Ten pounds overweight.
    Head bopper.
I like my drummer best out of the people in my band.
I sing along even though I don't have a mike.
I make stupid faces when I play.
My girlfriends are always the best-looking...;)
I could go on and on!

Not very snobby but love the gear I have.
Wear a hat almost all the time
Little bit out of shape, and when in shape still a big guy (6'1" 180lbs)
Rocking the goatee...the teenager goatee anyway
Get really into songs when playing, but hey, stage presence can make or break a show!
Wish I knew enough theory to discuss it with people who don't care =(

I bring more equipment (including back-up cables and power cords), have more gear to tote and take more technical interest in the gear (esp. PS/sound) than anyone else in the band.

Some or all of those may be stereotypical.

    Theory geek.
    Tone freak.
Understand time better than my drummer. :(
    Bit overweight.
Like stupid hats, even if I don't wear one.
    Talk in terms of groove.
When someone says punch and growl, I immediately think of my Bongo.
Know that Bongo means bass, not a drum.
Listen to a much wider variety of music than anyone in the band.
