Wasn't Mingus a little on the crazy side. He doesn't look scary, but I've read some interesting stories about his temperment.

I'll also throw in a vote for Commerford and Steele.

Well I can see the reasoning for first two. Commerford would probably be more worried about you stealing his tone.

I was just riffing on the past Bass Player articles where he goes over his rig like it is some huge mystery. Loosely quoted, "You'll never figure out my rig, I have lines on my pedal board that don't even do anything."

He also mentions worry over bands in Asia who copy American bands to the T.

He just has came off as way too paranoid about his gear in every article I've read about him. I never thought his tone or playing was as incredible as his fanatics do. Granted I dislike Audioslave and Rage against The Machine bores me after two or three songs.

A secondary point is that size or build is not end-all determining factor for toughness or fighting ability. I'm 5'10" 215 and workout daily, but a hungover Oscar de la Hoya sick with the flu could kick the crap out of me in a fair fight.

Maybe if I had a spear or a some sort of hand-cannon.

  14. Couldn't find one. I think I saw one on this site some time.

After all, he is a Carnivore.

Carnivore was his old band, in case someone wonders.

I just realized something. How did you know my name?

Please say that mods have super secret mod powers that regular posters couldn't fathom, much less think of using.

Look at that scary face, and he's got a mace, which is pretty scary. He's also a convicted murderer, which gives him street cred.

Of course he's in prison, which makes him less scary since he'd have to get out before kicking my a$$ and eating me. And since he was smart and tried to escape in 2004 a couple weeks before a parole hearing I think I'm safe for a while.

Glen Benton scares me. Not only is he big and ugly looking but he growls and plays in a scary metal band. Also anyone willing to brand an upside down cross into his forhead to get gigs clearly has issues and a higher pain tolerance than most people I've fought. What am I supposed to do, brand a happy bunny face into his butt to intimidate him?

    Plus his bass is pointy...

    Then there's this dude:
Conrad Lant, aka Cronos the true inventor of black metal (i.e. he came up with the phrase in a song). He may not look that tough, and he supposedly got his a$$ kicked by Henry Rollins at a Black Flag concert, but since his uber world stardom waned he's been teaching aerobics and martial arts classes (I'm not kidding), so he's probably in good shape. And just, well look at him...

PS: Pete Steele doesn't scare me because I've met him and he was really cool. We shot pool and ate pizza for a couple hours after a Type O show and he bought my friend some cookies because the 711 across the street carded him. He is one of the only people I've ever met who was bigger than me though.
