That's me! Learned on a right handed bass, but am left handed. How do I join?

This is me. I started out on a left handed bass, wanted a new one and realized I could find any in any of the stores that were lefties, so I just decided to right. I actually feel like it helps me that my more dominant hand is the one on the neck.

I do though still play drums left handed but on a kit set up for a right handed person. I just don't cross my arms. The only change I make is a move the ride next to my hihat and add an extra crash where the ride was.

    *Raise left hand.

No southpaw Bass guitars to be found locally when I first took up the instrument. Tried to switch a few years in, but never developed a feel for it.

Please sir, may I please have a number?

  10. Happy New Year!

  11. That's me! Walked into a GC looking for my first instrument, tried both a lefty and a righty bass, decided it would be better to do all the fretting work with my dominant hand. Glad I chose a righty bass as my choices of available bass increase 1000fold compared to lefty basses!

Count me in. Started playing in '68 and there was no way I could afford a lh bass.

I'm in! Never even considered the fact that a lefty may need a different guitar when I was grabbing my first as a kid.. Learned on a righty and stuck with it.

There is a first class Beatles tribute group names Rain. I remember reading their bass player was a right hand guy that taught himself to play left so he could better portray Macca. Heck I can't use silverware with my left hand. I was suitably impressed.

Another lefty playing righty....seemed to make more sense learning this way. Tried playing a lefty bass a couple years ago and couldn’t for the life of me do it. Seems to me using your dominant hand on the fretboard is the most logical way of playing.
