BassLab Basses = Craziest thing I've ever seen. Ever.

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Zentner, Nov 27, 2003.

  1. Anyone ever heard of these... Bass Lab basses made in germany? They look like they're from another planet! Anyways, i'm not real in love with how they look, but i am impressed with how they sound.

    Check these things out!
Oh... and watch the video of Gerald Reese in the Sound & More category.

No, i'm not a rep. of this company, just found their stuff to be the craziest basses i've ever layed eyes on, even crazier than Jerzy Drozd, if possible.

Anyone ever heard one of these in real life?
    thoughts? opinions?

  2. Some look like a plastic guitar/bass that has been put into the microwave.
  3. I agree, they're ugly as hell, but nonetheless, interesting.

They look like.... ****. But I think there's BIG and BASSY sound in those.
    Quite interesting...
  5. Analog Pussy. What a great band name.

Anyway, I wouldn't own one, just because of how damn stupid they look.

...okay, MAYBE I'd get a Soul. But it's just a Fender copy.

I've played them, check some of my earlier posts for a big review, but they are some of the most amazing instruments I have ever seen. I've played all sorts of basses, and there's nothing like it. 6 string bass that's lighter than most guitars? I'll take it. The tone is to die for, anything you want, it just shoots out.

    Personally, I'm saving my pennies.

I think they kick ass. It is cool to see a company come out with original innovative instruments. I am getting really sick of the boring Lakland, Sadowsky, Celinder 4K jazz bass clones.

I thought a person who was either the owner or worked @ Bass Lab was a member here. I think the user name was Heiko or something similar to that.

As far as the instruments-i agree that they look a bit out there but i like it. I'd definately take a Soul V fretless or pretty much anything from them. The look is different and some might not like that but i think that they're nice. The weight of them is another reason to consider them-it'd be nice if you have a touchy back.

    That's all

Which is why I want one! I like the idea that people wander into a bar, spot the bass and think "WHAT THE..."

Has Joe Nerve seen these yet? :)
