Basslines MM pick up switching options

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Gallient Knight, Apr 22, 2003.

  1. I just bought another Washburn XB900 with the Duncan MM pickup and preamp (I can't seem to stop buying these). This one was wired in series which gives it a cool, different tone. So I go to thinking about some mods to it.

Here is my goal (and where I need help)

I would like to be able to switch from Parallel to Series to Out of Phase.

The Duncan reference documents mention wiring for phase and series, or series and parallel, and single. But don't seem to have what I need.

I am willing to install as many as 2 switches to accomplish this goal. (seems like any more then that and the bass starts to look more like a mixing console)

As always any advice is greatly appreciated.

You could try this setup from GuitarElectronics.com --

I dunno how many of the five positions would yield a useful tone, but, what the heck :bassist:

As it happens, g-e.com sells a 4P5T rotary switch :D

The only problem I could see may be having the room and
esp. the DEPTH in the control cavity of that Washburn for
a big ol' rotary switch :meh:
