Bassman '59 Back Mod

    That combo looks cool but everybody say it can't work really good because the back isn't close. How about closing the back of the combo. I think it can't be done because of tube heat but i'm a noob in that area.

    Not really worth the effort. It was a great bassamp, before they learned how to really make a bass amp. It is a fantastic guitar amp, with a misleading name. The tone, however, is undeniable, though only useful in the lowest levels of volume.

    Correct about the tube heat. The drivers are not that great either, IMHO.

    +1. Fender didn't use a bass specific driver other than the JBL 140 series until at least 1970.
