Atlanta, GA -- On October 22, 2006, at Atlanta Institute of Music (5985 Financial Drive, Norcross, GA 30071), bassists Adam Nitti, Trip Wamsley, Darren Michaels, Brady Muckelroy, Russ Rodgers, Gary Wilkins, and Bernhard Lackner headline the third annual BassUp! event.

BassUp! focuses on bass players and the bass community in Atlanta and aims to unite the bass community while encouraging people to see the compositional and melodic possibilities of the electric bass along side its traditional role. The show is all ages welcome and will include clinics, performances, and giveaways. Clinics will begin at 1:30PM and are free admission. The performances begin at 4:30PM and admission is also free.

New to this year’s event is the Solo Bass Open Mic which will be held at Mocha Match Coffee Bar (627 East College, Ste. F, Decatur, GA 30033) on Friday, October 20, 2006. It’s a chance for the beginner, up-&-comer, or professional bassist to perform solo bass live. No audition is required. Check the website for sign-up information.

You won’t want to miss this celebration of the bass and gathering of the Atlanta bass community!

If you are anywhere near the area where BassUp! is being held, you owe it to yourself to attend. Darren has a great line-up of performers, activities and clinics. Bound to be a hands-on and personal experience. This IS the weekend, people. Support a great effort for us low-enders!

This will be my third BassUp! and I'm really looking forward to it. If you can go, go! It is definitely worth your while.
