    Hey Guys/Gals,

My bandleader is wanting me more and more to scrap my amp and cab, and just get a good preamp/DI box. We all use in-ears, no wedges, and I've done only a direct box before (also a preamp). I used an Aguilar Tone Hammer, and it did a great job the few times I "risked it". I loved the overdrive it had, but I have no use for that in country music (for the most part). I just run a plain, clean signal, and the Aguilar box didn't have enough eq for me going without an amp and cab. While my rig is small, as is...GK 1001RB-II to a Markbass Traveler 102P cab, it's still a pain, in the sense that all of our own sound system we have to set up and tear down every night. We'd still keep it in the trailer, just in case, though.

Soooooo, I think this might be my golden ticket, and even though it's pricey, not having to set up my rig anymore would be PRICELESS:

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You are right: the Basswitch has a great flexible EQ.
The Mute switch comes in vey handy and both channels allow you to switch between 2 basses should you decide so.....
And you still can patch the Tonehammer into one of the loops if you need it anyway.

btw: the Basswitch DI is absolutely pristine as well!

Songwriter, embrace the ampless movement. It is a great feeling on one's back to walk into a gig with your bass in one hand, fx board in the other and that is it.

It'll be my next investment, once my finances clear up. Oh, and I bought a new ESP 5'er a little ways back, for backup purposes...not a bad little bass for around $365!
