while i love my RNC compressor, its not footswitchable. so, i was thinking of getting the best hifi compressor available.

are either one of these "it"?

Diamond "Custom Bass Voiced" Compressor. You get an EQ tilt control that is very handy while the comprssor remains "Hi-Fi" sounding.

The Demeter is very nice as well as the Keeley 4 knob bass compressor.

Pricing and form factor are the main choices between these three.

I use the diamond compressor...preferred the non bass mod, but did get the gain lowered.
I A/B'd it with a bbe opto and there was no comparison.
    The bbe was unimpressive

Barber Tonepress is worth looking at.

I ordered a Punch Factory, & am picking it up today over lunch. I'll try it out for 30 days.

Not even sure I'll like having a compressor... we'll see.

I really like my Demeter Compulator, though I never compared it to the others. And it's true bypass, if you care about that sort of thing.

The Punch Factory is REALLY transparent. If you're not sure you want a compressor, this might be the one for you. Most of the time you won't even know it's there.

+1. I actually didn't think I'd need/like compression either, and am glad to say that I was wrong :D

I like the Demeter Compulator better than the EBS multicomp.
