    Mods - I used search but the answer was not readily apparent in the fifty threads that came back I just have a couple quick questions so shove that search button up your... j/k :D ;)

    How do you all use it? Where does it go in the chain? How does it itnteract with compression? I just got a 428i.

    What type of setup do you have?

    I think the BBE works best last in the signal chain before the poweramp.
    Compressors are typically the first in a signal chain to control dynamics going into other components.

    If you have a preamp and power amp, you could try putting it between the two.
    Bass -> Preamp -> BBE -> Poweramp -> Speakers

    If you have an effects loop, you could place it within that.

  3. Thats "MOD" to you boy. I'm flying solo now! :D

    :D :D

    Redneck2wild, I have a compressor, pre-amp, poweramp setup. I'm thinking after the compressor, before the pre-amp. Do you see any problems with that chain?

    Bliss, I see no problems, but I think it would be better (far better) b/n the pre and power. Due to the i/o structure of the bbe I think it would be better for noise and sound quality.

    No problem :D
    That's more or less what I do (loop of an integrated head) with mine. Are you liking the sound?

    Yep, I use it sort of subtly, but it clearly helps me cut through the rest of the band. It helps me add some fatness and retain my clarity.

    BBE gear is excellent. I swear by it now.

    I use the BBE383 bass pre-amp, until I can save up for the BMAX-T.

    hi guys,

    i just caught this thread...

    yes, further downstream is always best and in the type of setup described the 482i should be the last thing before the power amp.

    thanks for the support

    I been using it like this:
    (with great results)

    preamp->compression->BBE->amp

    I second that, because I like to have the dynamics going into the tubes, then compressing that sound then to the BBE. I have the BBE 362.

    the wacky handle came from when i was a buyer at ProSound and Stage Lighting, a catalog retailer who's primary business is DJ gear, and was dealing with DJ's all day...they love those adidas baggy nylon gym pants and basketball tanks...so i'd walk around all day saying "yo, yo,
    yo DJ Nylon Pants in da' house!"

    it makes a fun handle on bbs forums.
