After having this in mind for the past six months, I finally spent my Ibby a BEAD job. I hardly used the G-string (the one on the bass :p). It also had a few nasty dead spots. I filed the nut to perfect U-shapes of the right size and installed new EB flatwounds. The old E was too short for its new position, the A was almost dead and a new B had to be bought anyway. The height of the nut slots with respect to the fretboard matches the height of a fret. I gave it a quick setup and played a few songs. Tomorrow it'll be fine tuned, setting intonation, action and relief... :hyper:

One drawback: I tend to grab the wrong tuners. That'll be history quite quickly, I suppose, as I often play ten to fifteen hours a week.
